The PSIME ED specialises in various fields, with the main ones being subatomic physics, materials science, optics, combustion, fluid mechanics, electrical engineering, components, crystallography, process engineering, and the geo-environment.
PSIME doctoral students conduct their theses in one of the region’s fifteen laboratories specialising in the aforementioned fields. These laboratories are spread across Normandy, primarily in Caen, Rouen, and Le Havre.
CORIA (Interprofessional Aerothermochemistry Research Complex)
GPM (Materials Physics Group)
LMN (Normandy Mechanics Laboratory)
LSPC (Chemical Process Safety Laboratory)
SMS (Separative Sciences and Methods laboratory)
CIMAP (Research Centre for Ions, Materials, and Photonics)
CRISMAT (Cristallography and Materials Science Laboratory)
Builders (Builders for Society School of Construction Laboratory)
GANIL (National Heavy Ion Accelerator)
LCS (Catalysis and Spectrochemistry Laboratory)
LPCC (Caen Corpuscular Physics Laboratory)
LUSAC (Cherbourg University Laboratory of Applied Sciences)
M2C (Continental and Coastal Morphodynamics laboratory)
GREAH (Le Havre Electrical Engineering and Automation Research Group)
LOMC (Waves and Complex Media Laboratory)
These laboratories are generally affiliated with several supervisory bodies, including the three Normandy universities (UCN, URN, ULHN), two public engineering schools (INSA and ENSICAEN), as well as the CNRS and the CEA.
