Welcome meetings
♦ Each year, in the autumn, the DS organises welcome meetings at each of its sites, to which all newly enrolled students are invited (it is mandatory, actually).
♦ The aim of these meetings is to present the local environment, explain how the DS operates, introduce the key players, go through all the stages of a thesis, clarify certain regulatory aspects, and finally present the DS’s activities.
♦ Since many doctoral students do not speak French, these meetings are held in English and led by the site director.
