Home Page DOCTORAL PATHWAY Annual Re-registration

The doctorate lasts three years, but it is important to be aware that this means three separate one-year registrations, and without registration, funding stops immediately.

Since 2022, annual re-enrolments (D1 to D2, then D2 to D3) have been subject to ISC approval. Since the first registration can occur at any time of the year, there may be a significant gap between the 6-, 18-, and 30-month deadlines (9 and 20 months under the old system) and the re-enrolment period, which necessarily takes place in the summer.
Consequently, the DS publishes a document specifically dedicated to standard re-enrolments (D1→D2 and D2→D3), which all parties, including the ISC, agree to. In most cases, the ISC simply repeats the conclusion of its last hearing, but in other cases (for example, in the case of a probationary period or a very recent registration), the ISC’s opinion may not be directly linked to a regulatory interview.

See the document in the “PSIME FORMS” section

The DS provides the institutions with the lists of doctoral students authorised to re-enrol. It is then up to each doctoral student to re-enrol individually on the dedicated website by paying the enrolment and CVEC fees.
