All DSs must provide remuneration at least equivalent to the monthly salary of an institutional doctoral contract (set by decree), as well as social security coverage compatible with medical and hospital costs in France, for a minimum period of three years.
As part of the LPR, the government has introduced a gradual increase in this remuneration according to the schedule below:

For doctoral students funded by a foreign grant, as well as for doctoral students under international co-supervision, minimum resources equivalent to the full-time net monthly SMIC per month of presence in France are required. At the end of December 2023, the SMIC was equivalent to €1,383 net per month.
